Welcome to The Nest, Union’s new employee childcare program!
“The employee childcare program, The Nest, is designed to provide an affordable quality childcare service to employees of the Union Public School District with children ages 6 weeks to 3 years of age,” said Theresa Kiger, executive director of Elementary Education for Union Public Schools. “Our program will provide a safe environment, focused on the physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs of our youngest children. Our employee childcare program will be National Association for the Education of Young Children accredited and a 5-STAR DHS licensed program.”
The Nest at the Rosa Parks Early Childhood Education Center will open its doors August 14 and run through next May with a summer session planned for next year.
The Nest will offer three types of classes:
Note: The Nest will accept DHS, Tribal and private pay.
Union will offer an enrollment period through June 16. However, because of the expected interest and limited space available, Union will host a lottery to determine which families will get a spot in The Nest on June 19. Union hopes to serve about 32 children. Families will be notified June 20 of their status for the 2023-2024 school year. The lottery will be conducted by family names, not individual child names.
