Summer EBT Program Available To Muscogee Nation Reservation Families
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are excited to share information about the Summer EBT program that will be available to your family and other families on the Muscogee Nation Reservation this summer. Summer EBT provides extra food benefits to help ensure your children have access to nutritious meals when school is not in session.
Through the Summer EBT program, eligible families will receive an EBT card that can be used to buy healthy foods at participating grocery stores and markets. A food package valued at $120 per eligible child will be loaded on the card. This is made possible through a collaboration between the Muscogee Nation and several partners.
Your card will come directly from the Cherokee Nation in early June.
If you qualify for free and/or reduced-price school meals and are already enrolled in them at your school, you do not need to sign up for Summer EBT. And don’t worry – participation in the program doesn’t affect your participation in other food assistance programs like WIC or SNAP. When you receive your EBT card in the mail, you will also receive information on how and where it may be used.
If you do not want to receive Summer EBT benefits, email your student's first and last name, birthdate, and school district to help@oksebt.org. Please note that you wish to opt-out of Summer EBT in 2024 in the email. You can also call (not text) the Summer EBT helpline at 918-213-4855 to opt-out.
To learn more about the program, visit www.oksebt.org (but don't sign up; you are already covered). We hope the extra food assistance will bring substantial benefit in ensuring your children have access to nutritious foods all summer long.
