Union To Host Transportation & Operations Career Fair July 14

Union Public Schools is hosting a Transportation & Operations Career Fair on Tuesday, July 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will take place in the lobby of the UMAC (Union Multi-purpose Activity Center), 6836 S. Mingo Road, in Tulsa.

Tulsa-area jobseekers are invited to attend the event, with the primary focus being on filling the district’s open positions for school bus drivers and mechanics for the 2026-27 school year. Bus Drivers Needed

Every year, more than 10,000 students ride Union buses on a regular basis. Every day, 73 bus drivers complete 360 routes, transporting students to and from school.

Starting pay is $19.19 per hour plus benefits, and Union provides paid training.  It takes approximately four weeks for prospective drivers to get through the training, unless applicants already have their CDL. Union uses a computerized routing system, and safety is our No. 1 priority with cameras and monitoring on the bus.

For mechanics, the pay ranges from $20.11/hour to $33.52/hour, depending on experience.  Union counts all years of experience for mechanics and bus drivers.

The employment fair will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the UMAC. The event is open to the public. There is no cost to attend.
