Union Teacher Empowerment Program
Dear Union Public Schools Certified Teachers,
We are thrilled to release the 2025-2026 Union Teacher Empowerment Program application. The program was made possible by the passage of SB 1256 during the May 2024 Legislative Session. This bill empowers Oklahoma educators by establishing advanced, lead, and master teacher certifications, coupled with significant stipends.
Here are the key details of the program:
- Teacher Designation Levels and Stipends:
Teachers designated as advanced, lead, or master educators will receive a stipend ranging from $3,000 to $10,000. - Additional Awards:
Teachers working at schools with 40 percent or more economically disadvantaged students will receive a one-time bonus of $1,500 to $5,000 based on their certification level. Previous UTEP recipients are not eligible for this one time stipend. - Funding:
The Oklahoma Teacher Empowerment Program (OTEP) allows exceptional educators to advance their professional growth and compensation without transitioning to administrative roles. This funding ensures districts can designate up to 10% of their top teachers for these certifications. - Contract Adjustments:
Designated teachers are required to work additional workdays as part of the program.
This program offers a unique opportunity to enhance your professional journey and reward your dedication to our students.
