Board Of Education Approves Adjunct Policy
Citing a need to keep some of its current educators, Union Public Schools has approved a policy allowing for adjunct teachers.
At Monday night’s meeting, Union Public Schools’ Board of Education unanimously approved a new policy allowing for individuals to teach even if they are not able to be emergency certified in a discipline or have not yet completed a bachelor’s degree.
“We have held off for many years on adding this,” Union Executive Director of Human Resources Jay Loegering said. “We’ve been avoiding this, but unfortunately, with the State Department of Education’s certifications, we are running into a situation where we have certified teachers who are not able to get certified in other areas under their current rules.” Continue reading
