Union Senior Wins Aerospace Innovation Award

Congratulations to Jose Sanchez, who won the Aerospace Innovation Award in the High School Division at the Dronie Awards!
The event was hosted by the Oklahoma Aerospace Institute for Research and Education at Oklahoma State University earlier this month. The awards recognize excellence in unmanned aerial systems across aerospace innovation, education, research, safety, and professional practice.
Sanchez is currently a senior in both the Union Aerospace and Tulsa Tech engineering programs. His project was to create a multi-hazard emergency response UAS, which included a UAV that he built by hand. His project was self-directed with no kit, no instructions, but a lot of perseverance through trial and error!
