Peters Elementary Keeps Busy Learning & More

Peters students gather in a huddle on the playground area.

Check out some scenes from Peters Elementary this afternoon as students spend time in the classroom, in the cafeteria and on the playground.

Classroom Activities

Reading is fundamental at Peters Elementary. Students have access to a school library, but they can also use digital devices, namely iPads which provide a number of reading resources to help them improve their reading skills.

Digital devices also help students as they work on math skills and other disciplines as called upon by their teachers. Digtial devices can be small handheld ones or large smart boards, which allow students to see lesson plans presented by teachers - even if sometimes they are used to help "get out the wiggles" before more learning can get underway such as some students in art who danced to "Ka-Pow! 2: Attack of the Gravity Goldfish!" Lunch

Union students have the option to purchase a hot lunch in the school cafeteria or bring their lunch. Cashiers at each site, including Peters Elementary, can accept cash or check pre-payments at the register if not using the credit/debit option through MySchoolBucks.

Photos here show third graders enjoying lunch. And thanks to the great crew who helps make all that food at Peters! Photos

Student Council

Check out some of these posters created by students, who are campaigning for student leadership.

Recess!

Fifth graders had fun today on the playground, playing on the equipment and swings or just tossing around a football on the large field west of the school. Photos
