By a 5-0 vote, Union’s school board accepted the resignation of Zone 5 representative Ken Kinnear and declared his seat vacant at a special meeting Tuesday evening.
Union Public Schools announced the names of some 60 eighth graders, who have been selected to participate in the next class of EDGE, a program that allows students to obtain a two-year college degree through Tulsa Community College at the same time they finish their high school degree. Union Public Schools Special Services will host the 3rd annual Choose to Include event for students and their families outside at Union Tuttle Stadium on Friday, May 3. The event for educational resource students will run from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Union Theatre is hosting a fundraiser: Once Upon A Time Tea Party - from 11 a.m. until 1 op.mn. Saturday, Aril 27, at the Union performing Arts Center, 6636 S. Mingo Road. Tickets are $25 and includes snacks, tea, crafts, a goodie bag and more.

For the 12th year in a row, Union Public Schools has been recognized by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education as the Oklahoma’s Promise 2024 State 6A Champion for having 175 seniors from the class of 2023 qualify for the Oklahoma’s Promise Scholarship.

Coach Bushyhead says: “Made the trip to Ardmore this weekend for the Max Williamson Inv. and played some great golf! Shot 295 at Lakeview and 292 at Dornick Hills to take the team title. Bo lead the way with his best golf of the year for a 2nd place finish (71-73), Sammy finished 4th (72-73) and Jesse rounded out the top 5 (73-74). Jackson also played his best golf of the year with scores of 79-79. Proud of the guys for putting two great rounds together!”

Union sixth graders enjoy some time in the Extended Day Program on stage at the 6th/7th Grade Center before school started today, playing with building blocks, creating art or just hanging out.

Thank you to seventh graders Cian Beeman.
