4090 Leave Authorization
Employees absent from assigned duties without approved leave authorization may be subject to dismissal or reduction in pay at a daily rate based on the actual contract period.
The Executive Director of Human Resources or Director of Human Resources may grant unpaid leave of up to six (6) weeks for extreme or emergency situations when employee has no leave available under Board policy or applicable master contract. Written requests for consideration must be forwarded to the Executive Director of Human Resources.
Approval of a leave request is the responsibility of the building principal/director and the Executive Director of Human Resources. Employees who have been denied leave by their immediate supervisor have the right of appeal through the chain of command to the Executive Director of Human Resources.
