4038 Evaluation of Administrative Personnel
Except for the Superintendent and Chief Financial Officer, who shall be evaluated by the Board of Education, all certified and non-certified administrators shall be evaluated at least annually by the personnel designated by the Superintendent. Principals and assistant principals will be evaluated by the state-approved, Board-authorized leader evaluation system. All evaluations shall be made in writing.
The Board of Education specifically adopts the McREL evaluation system as the evaluation instrument for school site administrators. See Board Policy #4040 - Teacher & Leader Effectiveness (TLE) - Evaluation Processes.
Evaluation documents and responses thereto are to be maintained in the personnel file for each administrator.
This policy and the evaluation form utilized to effectuate this policy shall be made available to all persons subject to this policy.
The Board of Education shall evaluate and complete the evaluation form on the Superintendent prior to the Board taking any action to renew or not renew the Superintendent’s contract.
Nothing in this policy shall require, as a condition precedent to dismissal of any administrator, that a prior written evaluation be made of the administrator.
