EMPLOYEE EDUCATIONAL REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAMS

In recognition of the value of higher educational opportunities for employees, the district offers educational reimbursement to qualifying employees pursuant to the following programs:

Higher Education Reimbursement Policy for Certified Employees

The educational reimbursement program available to qualifying certified employees is maintained in the UCTA Master Contract (#4015), and specifics of the program are also available in the Human Resources Department.

Support Employee Educational Assistance Program

The educational reimbursement program available to qualifying support and support associate employees, as well as to administrators, is maintained in the Financial Reporting Office, and specifics of the program are also available in the Human Resources Department.

EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM

The Extended Day Program (EDP) offers a discount to district full-time and part-time employees. This discount applies to employees’ children who are in PreK through 7th grade at Union Schools who are enrolled in any Extended Day Program selection. A schedule of the details regarding this discount is maintained in the office of the Extended Day Program or the office of the Director of Accounting.

DISTRICT-SPONSORED WELLNESS CENTER

The district will pay a portion of the cost of The Y at Union membership for any full-time employee who joins the district-sponsored Y at Union and pays his/her portion of the membership fee. A schedule of the details regarding this cost-sharing program is maintained in the Human Resources Department. This optional benefit will be available to the employee after processing of paperwork submitted by the employee and is not subject to a wait period. Union retirees may purchase a membership at the full Union employee rate (no district-paid supplement).

EARLY RETIREMENT INCENTIVE PROGRAMS

The Board of Education specifically authorizes the early retirement incentive programs as follows and as per the terms and conditions outlined for administrators in Board Policy #4093, for certified employees as per UCTA Master Contract #4092, and for support and support associate employees as per USPA Master Contract #6.06.
