Credit Recovery

Union

Union credit recovery is an online computer program offered iduring fall, spring and as summer school - allowing students to recover credits for courses they have failed.

Students will start their credit recovery course by attending one orientation session, offered each Monday during the session.   In addition to the orientation, each student’s attendance in the computer lab is required to complete a minimal number of tests and quizzes under the supervision of the instructor.  Each student’s progress will be monitored by teachers who are also available to provide instructional and technical support.

Orientations are held each day Monday-Thursday in room 2122 at the High School. Students must attend orientation before they may begin their course.

Enrollment begins in early September and classes end in December.
See your counselor for specifics and authorization to enroll.
Lab Hours: Mondays-Thursdays 3:30-6 p.m.

Enrollment and Cost

Enrollment cards may be obtained from the student's school counselor.  Completed enrollment cards and the registration fee should be turned in to Brenda Willis, Financial Clerk at the High School.  Enrollment cards completed by student and counselor must be returned with the registration fee before a student may begin coursework. The fee for Credit Recovery is $30 for one course and $60 for two or more courses.   Cash, check and money orders are accepted, payable to Union Public Schools.

Grade/Credit

Each Credit Recovery course offers 0.5 credit to students who have successfully completed the virtual course.  Each student’s grade will be reported to their respective school. Union’s Credit Recovery program will not offer first-time or new credit. Courses earned through credit recovery DO NOT meet NCAA eligibility requirements.

Attendance

In addition to the initial orientation, each student’s attendance in the computer lab is required to complete a minimal number of tests and quizzes under the supervision of the instructor. Throughout the session, student progress will be monitored by teachers who are available to provide instructional and technical support. Students who have not logged in for 10 or more days will have their account disabled, and they will have to report to the class during lab hours to be reactivated. When you are in the building for Credit Recovery, you must report to and remain in the classroom. Transportation will NOT be provided.
