Congratulations to Union’s district homeless liaison Myriam Puleo, who was named the 2020-2021 Support Employee of the Year.
Puleo was surprised with the announcement this afternoon at the Union High School Freshman Academy media center, where staff, administrators and members of her family were waiting.
Puleo thanked everyone for the recognition but said she feels she really shares this honor with co-workers, who work hard to bring needed services to families.
Associate Superintendent Charlie Bushyhead commended Puleo for her efforts to reach out to students, who have been affected by homelessness, but also to her work ethics and her strength of character.
Superintendent Dr. Kirt Hartzler echoed his sentiments, saying Puleo is a prime example of Union employees, who strive to help students get resources they need in order to attend and graduate school.
As part of her honor, Puleo received a few nice gifts and a $1,000 check in her name. She and the other Support Employees of the Month for the past year received special gift baskets in their honor.
