For the first time since the pandemic started in the spring of 2020, Child Nutrition is bringing out its blender bike for nutrition classes at the elementary schools. First stop was today at Cedar Ridge Elementary School.
Students learned some great nutrition facts and then they got to ride on the bike, which powers a blender on the handlebars to make hummus. Better, students got to taste the hummus with a bite of carrot.
When students were not riding the blender bike, they were on the gym floor playing a series of games involving bowling over different objects, followed by planks.
Students pictured here are from third grade. The Child Nutrition blender bike will make another appearance at Cedar Ridge Wednesday before touring other Union schools.
