The 2022 BPA National Leadership Conference in Dallas was an AMAZING experience for our business students. We had SO MUCH FUN and did amazing things. Vy, Tiffany & Karleny represented UHS well!
Here are some of the highlights of our week:
- • The girls experienced their first train ride, as that was our main mode of transportation after we drove to OKC
- • Pin trading and networking with students from across the nation - the girls LOVED this part
- • Visiting the Dallas Arboretum and doing a mini photoshoot (with yours truly as the photographer)
- • Exploring Six Flags - two of the girls have never been on a roller coaster!
- • Hanging out in Fort Worth while waiting on our train home and toured the Water Gardens
- • And of course....the competitions and awards!
Now, let's talk about the successes of these amazing students:
----------Tiffany Vang
• placed 1st in the NATION in Advanced Desktop Publishing (a graphic design event)
• placed 63rd out of 249 in Digital Communications and Design Concepts
• placed 205th out of 293 in Digital Marketing Concepts
----------Vy Tran
• placed 3rd in the NATION in Presentation Management
• took and passed the Business Management certification through Precision Exams (industry recognized certification authority), a difficult exam to pass
----------Karleny Alfonzo
• placed 7th in the NATION in Entrepreneurship
• took and passed the Entrepreneurship & Small Business certification through Certiport (a globally recognized industry certification authority), which is a VERY difficult exam to pass
I'm beyond proud of these young professionals and blessed to have been their advisor. Watching their successes unfold was a great way to close out my time as a teacher and BPA advisor (for those who don't know, this is my last year in the classroom).
