Union Public Schools had an informal “topping out” ceremony to celebrate placing the highest beam in the new Fine Arts/band building that will cap the north end of Union’s new football stadium. Crossland lifted by crane a structural beam into place. The beam was painted white, and we invited Class of 2022 Band and Guard seniors to sign the beam. The goal is to recognize these students despite the fact that they won’t be here to enjoy and get to use the new building when it opens later this summer. The south side of the building will hold the new score board, so it will be ready in time for the fall football season.
