Union Alternative Principal Chris Ducker will lead a Union Alternative forum at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 22 in Alt Ed. Building B (cafeteria) at 5656 S. 129th E. Ave. If you know of any students who appear to be appropriate candidates for Alternative Education, please encourage them to send in an application and attend this meeting. Student’s attendance at the forum is mandatory in order to sign up for an interview. If at all possible parents should accompany the students to this forum.
Applications are available on-line at https://forms.office.com/r/Wbnyhcyjqn or through the counselors’ offices in your building.
The video link included here also has additional information in regards to the program for those interested.
At this forum, which will last for about 45 minutes, Ducker will provide a great deal of general info about Alt Ed. At the end of the presentation, students and parents who are still interested in the program will be scheduled for a subsequent private interview to discuss their individual circumstances and to determine their level of need for the program. Anyone who wants to be considered for entering the Alternative School needs to attend this forum. Since we work in four-week blocks instead of semesters, we bring new students into the Alternative School monthly throughout the school year. Therefore, it’s appropriate to refer a student here at any time of the year, and forums are conducted several times throughout the school year and the summer.
