Five Union schools have received grant awards from the Tulsa Regional STEM Alliance, the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation and Flight Night for special programming, and eight schools have received funding for a virtual STEM series offered through the Tulsa Children’s Museum. The grants total $21,736 for Community Schools programming needs.
“We extend our deepest gratitude to Tulsa Regional STEM Alliance for its generous contribution to support STEM after-school programming at Union Public Schools,” said District Community Schools Coordinator Kulsum Siddiqui. “TRSA’s funding will enable the district to engage hundreds of students in STEM experiences that challenge them to design, build, and think critically and creatively. Union is truly grateful for TRSA’s continuous support and partnership.”

Union also received $12,800 to be shared between Boevers, Roy Clark, Grove, Jarman, Jefferson, McAuliffe, Ellen Ochoa and Rosa Parks Elementary for funding to provide virtual afterschool experiences through the Discovery Lab as part of the Tulsa Children’s Museum Virtual STEM Series.
Grant acceptance is contingent upon approval of the Board of Education.
