The following is important information about the 2020 UHS graduation for Union students. View our Commencement Page under the High School section

Graduation Ceremony

  • Graduates who are participating in the ceremony should complete the following form https://qrco.de/bbZQlP by Thursday July 16.  This form will help district leadership prepare for the event and will provide the photography company with your contact information for photo proofs. This form only needs to be filled out once.
  • Graduates will park in the CCC / North Lot.  The South lot is not available for parking due to construction.  Graduates will enter the stadium at the northwest gates.
  • Stadium gates will open at 7:15PM.
  • Graduates are asked to be in their seats by 7:45 p.m. for an 8 p.m. start time.
  • Water and a face mask will be provided to graduates as they enter the stadium.  Students will also pick up a card that will be used for the name readers.
  • Graduates will not shake hands with dignitaries while receiving their diploma.
  • Items that could be considered a distraction to the graduation ceremony such as inflatables or noise makers are not allowed inside Tuttle Stadium.
  • The ceremony will be streamed here: https://www.youtube.com/c/unionuview.

Safety Guidelines

  • The safety and health of our students, staff and patrons remain our top priority. District leadership will continue to follow the guidance and expertise of local health officials.
  • We encourage graduates to continue following CDC guidelines and social distancing practices.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at multiple locations throughout the stadium for graduates.
  • Face coverings are strongly recommended.
  • Continue to use preventative hygiene practices:
    1.    Stay home if you are sick or have a fever.
    2.    Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
    3.    Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing. If soap and water are not available, use hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
    4.    Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

Dress Code

Graduates should bring all parts of their graduation attire (stole, honor stoles, etc.) including their mortarboard WITHOUT decorations and their tassel on July 23. Graduates must follow school dress code underneath their graduation gown. Because of the heat, sandals and flip flops are permitted and wearing heels is discouraged as it will be difficult to walk on the football field turf.

Thank You!

Union Public Schools’ leadership would like to sincerely thank our students, staff and families for their support and flexibility as we navigated this unprecedented time. We are excited to safely celebrate this milestone with the Union High School Class of 2020.
