Union Reach 2020 will conduct a series of informative sessions in the month of July on the topics of race, inequity and education. Starting Thursday, July 9, at 1 pm, a student-led listening session on “The Color Achievement” will be facilitated by 2020-2021 students to discuss the impact of implicit bias and racial disparities on the academic achievement of students of color.
On Friday, July 10,at 2 pm, Oklahoma House Representative and Director of Network Growth for StriveTogether, Munroe Nichols, will discuss how certain disciplinary policies disproportionately target male students of color and the negative ripple effects these measures have on their future success in the session “School to Success Pipeline: Racial Equity for Black and Brown Male Students.”
