This afternoon at 4 p.m., the Oklahoma State Department of Education closed all Oklahoma schools beginning March 17 through April 6 in response to rising concerns about the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
As a result, all Union schools will be closed through Friday, April 3. While we will continue to monitor the situation very closely and keep you apprised, I would advise families to anticipate that schools may be closed even longer. Download this letter
The Spring Break Extended Day program at Jefferson Elementary planned for this week will be closed effective immediately. So it will not be available beginning Tuesday, March 17. We will provide refunds for the four unused days (more information to come).
District office and school buildings will be closed starting on Wednesday, March 18 through Friday, April 3.
Union may provide students “grab and go” meals beginning Monday, March 23. We will have more information on pickup locations and times at the end of the week.
According to Superintendent Hofmeister, the closure of all public schools in Oklahoma includes the suspension of all instructional activities, grading, and extracurricular activities. There will be no Tulsa Technology Center courses for Union students. Tulsa Community College students should refer to TCC communications.
