    Union Public Schools will host a Summer Camps & Activities Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at the UMAC. Vendors and community organizations who wish to participate may reserve a table; contact Community Schools Coordinator Kulsum Siddiqui (918-357-4332).

  • Prom dress drive under way; volunteers needed


    Volunteers needed March 28-30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 3 to 7 p.m. to help with prom dress drive. Dresses which may be donated include cocktail, semi-formal, formal or black tie.     Many adults are familiar with the food pyramid and Jefferson kindergarten students are getting their first look at the food pyramid this week as part of Child Nutrition's Go, Glow, Grow program. Child Nutrition is also teaching first grade students at Jefferson. continue reading

  • Union seeks approval of $26-million bond issue Tuesday, Feb. 14


    Union Public Schools is asking patrons to consider approval of a $26-million school bond issue when they go to the polls on Tuesday, February 14. The largest portion of the bond includes the next phase of construction of an elementary school to enable students throughout the district to attend school closer to home. Passage will not increase taxes above traditional levels and requires a supermajority – at least 60 percent of the vote.

  • Chains of love in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.


    Jefferson second grade students are making chains of love - words about kindness on little hearts - in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Students started working on the chains last week and hope to make chains of at least 100 by Valentine's Day.
