  • Prom dress drive under way; volunteers needed


    Volunteers needed March 28-30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 3 to 7 p.m. to help with prom dress drive. Dresses which may be donated include cocktail, semi-formal, formal or black tie.   • Union seeks approval of $26-million bond issue Tuesday, Feb. 14


    Union Public Schools is asking patrons to consider approval of a $26-million school bond issue when they go to the polls on Tuesday, February 14. The largest portion of the bond includes the next phase of construction of an elementary school to enable students throughout the district to attend school closer to home. Passage will not increase taxes above traditional levels and requires a supermajority – at least 60 percent of the vote.

    Attention 5th grade parents! The Union 6th Grade Center is inviting parents to register for a tour of the school during March. Tour dates will be: March 10 and March 22-24. Tours will take place in the morning and in the afternoon. Register inside.

  • Fine Arts Roadshow encourages 5th graders to enroll in music next year


    Jarman fifth graders were invited to enroll in one of the music classes next year at the 6th Grade Center during a Fine Arts "roadshow" Thursday when sixth grade music faculty talked to the students and showed them some of the instruments they might be playing, as well as vocal choir. The fine arts show will make a stop at all of the elementary schools this fall. continue reading

    The Union Board of Education has scheduled a special election Tuesday, February 14, 2017, for Union patrons to decide on a $26-million bond package, emphasizing that passage will not increase taxes above traditional levels.
