Union is very proud of our growing partnership with OU Physicians Tulsa which allows us the unique opportunity to provide access to quality health care while helping to control escalating medical costs. Together we provide a Clinic for Union's over 2,000 employees and their covered dependents in an ever continuing focus on staff health and wellness.
The Clinic is staffed with two medical doctors, a physician assistant, a nurse, and a patient representative. Not only does the Clinic provide high quality medical care to our district employees and their covered dependents, but the clinic also may provide some pharmacy services so employees can receive fast medical attention, often reducing the amount of time away from work.
Participating full-time Union employees are fully covered by health insurance through a PPO, a high-deductible qualified PPO medical plan/HSA, or HMO plan that is paid by a combination of the State’s contribution and the district’s additional contribution, as a part of the employee’s compensation. The Clinic services are open to the covered dependents of these employees as well. An employee who is benefit-eligible and waives the district’s health coverage may also utilize the Clinic by presenting his or her current health coverage card.
For part-time employees who do not qualify for district-paid insurance, the partnership with OU Physicians Tulsa offers medical care at a discounted rate; however, provisional employees are not eligible for Clinic services.
With both the Clinic and Wellness Center available, employees are encouraged to participate in health coaching, screenings, and other disease management and prevention programs so every employee can be as healthy as possible.
Clinic Facility
The Clinic is located at 5656 S. 129th E. Ave. which was previously the Extended Education Building/District Enrollment Center. The Clinic offers a professional atmosphere, convenient parking, and is separated from the school facilities at that location. Of course, all medical care is confidential and HIPAA protected as in other physicians’ offices.
This convenient location offers quick medical attention with extended hours tailored to meet employee needs. The Clinic is staffed with a fully-licensed OU physician, a physician assistant and a licensed practical nurse. The Clinic also has a patient service representative to schedule appointments and assist with referrals. A 24-hour referral and physician on-call service is also available. Appointments should be easy to schedule since the Clinic will only be open to Union employees and their covered dependents.
Staff
Connie Lane, M.D., is a graduate of The University of Tulsa’s nursing program. After working as a registered nurse for six years, Lane entered medical school and graduated from The University of Oklahoma in 1983. She did her residencies in internal medicine at the University of Oklahoma Tulsa and the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
Lane has been in private practice since 1985 until she joined United Health Care as a part-time medical director. She has also been a clinical faculty member for the Universities of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
