The Research-Assessment-Design department is a part of the Teaching and Learning division.  Our mission includes coordinating district and state testing as well as providing teachers, students and parents with up to date and accurate assessment data.  When wisely used, assessment data can guide instructional decisions to increase student achievement.

Proficiency-Based Promotion

Proficiency-Based Promotion (PBP) testing, also known as Credit by Examination (CBE) provides an opportunity for students to move forward in their educational endeavors by subject, course, and/or grade level based upon demonstration of mastery of the Oklahoma State Standards.  Proficiency-Based Promotion is intended to serve those students in Union Public Schools whose needs are not being met by available enrichment and/or advanced coursework. Opportunities for PBP or CBE testing occur in April and July.  For more information please contact Todd Nelson, Senior Executive Director For Research-Assessment-Design.
