Students at the Rosa Parks Early Childhood Education Center have a new treat and a new neighbor.
A new baby horse, rather.
Principal Lynn McClure said a foal was born mid-April and young children at the school hope to see it and sketch it on their pads.
“As far as we know,” McClure said, “the foul was born Tuesday, April 17, and was not up and about yet. Mom had her far back on the property and we could see her little head just above the grass. We could see her legs kick up once in a while like she was rolling on her back. Last week, the horses stayed away from the fences - my guess is keeping the baby safe with mom. A classroom of children sat out with their sketching pads for about 30 minutes on Thursday, April 19, hoping to catch a glimpse, but they came back empty handed regarding sketches of horses.”
So far!
