This past Sunday, November 20, three student athlete groups from Union volunteered their help at a Route 66 Marathon water station. Varsity Baseball, Girls’ Soccer, and the Athletic Trainers, along with their coaches, got up extra early (6:30 a.m.) on a cold damp morning to work at the event. In addition to handing out water and Gatorade to the runners, they also offered their encouragement and support through cheers and high fives.

On Sunday, November 20, Intermediate High organizations manned the food tent at the end of runs during the Route 66 Marathon. Thirty members of Business Professionals of America along with JROTC, and Key Club worked at the marathon. They handed out bananas, oranges, bagels, and drinks to the runners they finished the 5K, Fun Run, and Mascot Run. Proceeds from the weekend long events of runs go to the United Way.
