Clark honors

On Thursday, October 28, 2010, Roy Clark Elementary held its monthly Character Counts assembly. This month was a particularly big one because it not only honored students with excellent character but also the first quarter Accelerated Reader awards.
Students at this month’s assembly were given awards for AR, growing in the Fabulous 44, math fact masters, and character. Principal, Theresa Kiger, encouraged the students that did not make their AR goals to keep reading. She also gave the school a challenge. Since it seemed that about fifty percent of the students made their goal, she decided to award the students next quarter with a PJ, popcorn and movie party if seventy-five percent of Clark students make their goal.
Also, at this month’s assembly, the Catch the Dream award was given to a very deserving teacher, Kent Jones. Mr. Jones has also been named as Clark’s Teacher of the Year. More of that to come soon…
