Here’s what’s happening during Red Ribbon Week at Boevers Elementary, 3433 S. 133rd E. Ave.
On Monday, October 26 at 10:30 a.m., there will be a student-led assembly for third through fifth grades. The Union Highsteppers may make a special appearance. Students will watch a new Natural High DVD and make pledges to be drug-free.
Tuesday, October 27, will be “Join the Fight Against Drugs”. Students are encouraged to wear camouflage to school.
Wednesday, October 28, is “Wear Red Day”. There will be a special assembly at 9:20 a.m. for grades kindergarten through second grade with Carol Bush from the Tulsa Crime Commission. Students will be able to see the McGruff’s remote control car. During lunchtime, the Drug-Free Youth (D-FY) and McGruff will give out smartie candies to students because they are “Too Smart to Start Drugs”.
In addition, students are making anti-drug posters in art class and the after school Mayor’s Mentoring Program is making anti-drug video announcements for the morning KCAT news.
