Union’s Pom Squad went to the state competition in Oklahoma City on December 15. They took their Hip Hop and Pom routines, which they performed for Union students at the state championship pep rally.
“We have a lot of pressure on ourselves to do well, especially this year because we have a lot of younger girls: half our team is sophomores and freshmen” said Paige Giles, Pom Squad captain “We have to pull them up to varsity level. It’s really hard this year.”
That pressure paid off. The defending state champion squad place second in Hip Hop, and again took home the State Champion title for Pom.
