Union junior Tyler Helt placed fourth at the Edmond Pre-State Meet with a time of 16 minutes, 2 seconds in the Class 6A 5,000-meter run.
"Tyler pulls double duty," Union coach Mike Stanton said. "Not only does he work hard for the cross country team, he is also a member of the Union marching band."
The Union boys team, ranked No. 6 in the state, finished fifth overall in the Edmond meet.
