College & Career Center Update:
Amanda Howell is leaving the High School to stay at home with her two children.  Ms. Howell has been with the district for fifteen years and will always consider Union a home.  Mrs. Lowry has agreed to serve as an interim College and Career Crew sponsor as the district looks to fill the position.

Tips of the Week
The Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS) Program established in 1999, is funded by a $1.6 billion grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the United Negro College Fund.  If you know seniors who are African American, American/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American, have at least a 3.3 unweighted GPA, and meet Pell Grant eligibility, encourage them to attend an information session on Tuesday, October 16 from 6:30-8:00 at The University of Tulsa, Tyrrell Hall.  They can see Mrs. Johnson in the CCC for more information.

ACT News
Got Chad?  Encourage your students who need to raise their ACT scores to attend the Chad Cargill ACT workshop on Tuesday, October 23.  Students can get a registration form in the CCC or online and pay their $30 to Brenda Willis.  The workshop will be held from 4:30-7:30 in the Grand Hall and focuses on specific strategies for specific types of questions.

The October ACT is Saturday, October 27.  Please remind students that they will need to fill the new photo requirement and print their admission ticket before October 23.  There are photo apps on the Union College/Careers page on Facebook or you can always refer students to the CCC.
