Fall practice opens for most Oklahoma high school football teams on Tuesday.
A few schools, including Owasso, will start practicing at midnight, the first possible moment permitted for Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association members.
Union coach Kirk Fridrich is looking forward to starting practice Tuesday morning as his team begins a bid to win a fifth consecutive Class 6A state championship.
"This is a fun time of the year," Fridrich said. "You remember that football is about more than lifting weights and running sprints."
Due to the heat, most teams are practicing in the morning or in the evening.
OSSAA teams can begin scrimmaging other schools next week and the regular season opens for them on Aug. 30-31.
