3-year-olds learn to play tiny violins

Don't be sad if you hear the world's smallest violins, because these kids are having a ball.

Rosa Parks Early Childhood Education Center's 3-year-old students are learning all about the instrument this summer from a real violinist.

The Tulsa Symphony Orchestra puts on the program as part of its educational outreach.

In Monday's class, they learned how to hold the violin and where to put their feet.

But they're actually learning a lot more.

"Learning this kind of discipline and step-by-step process is very important for their learning skills in the future," instructor Ronnamarie Jensen said. "It's going to help them with math, it's going to help them with writing."

In a few more weeks, they'll be ready to give a miniature concert.
