Union Career Connect students refurbish bikes for area families

Manufacturing and Automotive students through Union’s Career Connect program and the City of Tulsa Learning With a Wrench program teamed up  for BIKES FOR KIDS, to refurbish bicycles to give to local families in need.

On Friday, students joined  red Isaacs, director of construction services for Union, Gary Burr, shop supervisor for the city of Tulsa. and other volunteers at the Union warehouse to refurbish bikes for area families.

Dream It Do It Oklahoma through OK2Grow, an education and workforce development non-profit organization funds and supports the Certified Production Technician Manufacturing Program at Union High School through a matching grant with the Schusterman Family Foundation.

This project is also a collaboration of business and educational partners including the City of Tulsa City’s Asset Management Department, City of Tulsa Fleet, City Cycles, APSCO, BAMA and EBSCO.
