The Global Gardens students finally got to get their hands dirty! After months of planning and learning about gardening, the students were able to watch as Joe Schulte of Southwood Nursery tilled the land recently that will become the Rosa Parks Community Garden. Students then worked on getting the rocks and weeds that are harmful to gardens out of each plot. Classes came out to watch the tractor at work. The Global Garden students shared what they had learned and their plans for their plots with the visiting classes. The next big event for the garden was the Celebration of Hope for Global Gardens Friday, May 2, starting at 3 p.m. Tulsa Mayor Cathy Taylor was to be a featured speaker.
