  • 7th Grade teacher Scott Pennington rocks

    September 6, 2012
Seventh grade teacher Scott Pennington cares about his students - even long after they have had his class. This year, as he does each year, Pennington emailed the parents of his former students and asked them to share his email with his students, encouraging them to do well and to remember the things he shared with them as their former teacher.... more

  • Briarglen considering PTA start-up

    September 6, 2012
The following is an automated phone message sent to families at Briarglen Wednesday.

Hi, this is Tracy Weese, principal of Briarglen Elementary. We are so fortunate to have great families in our school but we have not had a PTA for a few years. I would like to invite you to a short meeting this Thursday morning, September 6, from 7:30-8:00 in our cafeteria. I would like to look at creating a PTA for our school and then decide how we can all work together to really connect our community. If you are interested in being a part of this exciting group, please let me know. Even if you can't attend on Thursday, you can still take an active part in this initiative. Feel free to bring a friend, neighbor or relative with you. Coffee, juice and muffins will be served and I really hope to see you Thursday, September 6, at 7:30 in the morning. Thanks for your time.

  • Attendance counts at Boevers

    September 6, 2012
The following is an automated phone message sent to families at Boevers Wednesday night.

Hello, this is Boevers Principal Mrs. Pennington. Did you know showing up for school each day and being on time has a huge impact on a student's academic success, starting in pre-kindergarten. Even as children grow older and more independent, families are key in making sure students get to school safely and understand why daily attendance is so important.

So please remember Boevers students should be in their classrooms at 7:50 each day, not pulling up out front at that time. Those who arriving after 7:50 will be counted tardy. Students may come in the building beginning at 7:35, so they can begin their day on time. On Fridays only, school begins at 8:05 and students are tardy after 8:15. Please make sure your children arrive on time every day. Thank you!
