    The 6th/7th Grade Center has conducted several activities to help raise money for the United Way. One of the ways was a silent auction in which staff could bid on various items, from Kermit the Frog to a bubblegum machine.

  • Jarman pizza days start Oct. 7

    The Jarman Elementary PTA will have its first pizza day on Friday, October 7. Parents were encouraged to buy a pizza pass to pre-pay for the year and insure that their child never forgets their pizza money. This is always a favorite day with the students and parents as many parents choose to come and eat with their children. ... more

  • Peters Book Fair Sept. 27-Oct. 5

    To the Book Fair and beyond!! Peters Elementary is revving up for their Fall Book Fair. Students, their families & friends will be able to shop the great selection of books starting Tuesday, September 27 in the Media Center. The fair will be open each day from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will be open from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 29 and Tuesday, October 4. The last day for the book fair will be Wednesday, October 5. Proceeds from the fair help purchase books and supplies for the Peters Library. ... detail inside... more

  • 'One Less'

    Student Rosalyn Baily is working on a Gold Award recycling project for Girl Scouts called One Less. The Gold Award is the highest award a Girl Scout can receive and is the equivalent of an Eagle Scout for Boy Scouts.

    "For my project, I am planning on setting up recycling stations around the stadium for the Renegade Review on Saturday, October 1," Bailey said. "I personally know how many water bottles a band can go through in a day. I, myself, have gone through six water bottles at one all-day marching contest; multiply that by all the students and helpers in the band and that is a tone of bottles."

  • Jefferson Book Fair Sept. 22-30

    Jefferson Elementary School’s Fall Book Fair kicks off Thursday, Sept.22 and runs through noon on Friday, Sept. 30. Shopping hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. This year is a space theme titled: To the Book Fair and Beyond. Family nights will be Tuesday, Sept. 27, and Thursday, Sept. 29 until 6:30 p.m. If you see a space ship hovering close to the Media Center or teachers with antennas on their heads, just be warned the aliens have landed in search of good books.
