  • Sisters for the United Way

    This picture shows Emily (11th grade) and Kristen (9th grade) Grounds.  Both are Union students and the daughters of Moore teacher Beth Grounds.  In 2004 after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, Emily and Kristen decided to raise money for United Way.  They bake cookies to sell and donate all the money they collect to UW.  This was the sixth year and over the years, they’ve raised $3,100 for United Way.  Donations for 2010 equaled $427.00.... more

  • 'Late Start' programs at Clark

    The staff at Roy Clark Elementary has put together programs for students that want a place to hang while their teachers are in collaboration on Fridays. This has helped to make life easier for parents that need to drop their kids off at the normal time so they can make it to work. Clark currently has Zumba, reading lab, math games and computer games set up throughout the school. Enjoy these pictures taken by Jessie, a fourth grader at Clark

  • Can’t mask the excitement for reading

    The students in Debbie Bury’s 4th grade class have been reading about masks in their small reading groups. They are reading a magazine that is dedicated to masks of all kinds. The students have learned that masks are used for reasons such as religious, ceremonial, for work and of course for fun. This is just in time for the Halloween season.
