Golf team visits Andersen

As part of the Redskin AID (Athletes Impacting the District) program, the Union Varsity Girls Golf team donated their time and energy to help with Andersen Elementary’s annual Jog-A-Thon event on Friday, October 15.

Shade Out Drugs Day at Grove

In observance of Red Ribbon Week, students at Grove Elementary School today wore sunglasses for Shade Out Drugs Day. Pictured above, left to right, are fifth grader Megan Bolding, fourth grader, Fatima Trigueros, third grader Mequell Guidry, second grader Mauri Jones, first grader Seth Kirschner and kindergartner Trinity Cluck.

Pumpkins and math
October 27, 2010
On Monday, October 25, Boevers first graders spent the evening estimating, measuring and carving pumpkins! Students and their families estimated the circumference and weight of their pumpkins before measuring them using a tape measure and scale. They then carved them and lit them along the sidewalk for all to see.

Darnaby student wins at fair
October 27, 2010
ART SMART: Hannah Zeller, left, a student at Darnaby Elementary School, earned a 3rd Place Award Certificate recently during the Tulsa State Fair for the Art Smart Challenge. The goal of the challenge was to design a pattern for stained glass windows. The winners received a real window featuring their creation. Emily, Hannah’s younger sister, was very proud of the award since she helped choose some of the colors for the project. Courtesy the Union Boundary

Alumni spotlight: Matt Romine
October 27, 2010
The Notre Dame offensive lineman, Matt Romine, played high school football for the Union Redskins and was part of two state championship teams. He faces his former coach Bill Blankenship, now with TU, this Saturday.
Romine played through his junior season at Union under former Redskins head coach Bill Blankenship, TU's current special teams coordinator.

Betty Federline, receptionist from the Education Service Center, submitted the image from a pumpkin carving event at Boevers Elementary School, 3422 S. 133rd E. Ave., Monday night.

Newcomers Class goes on hayride
October 26, 2010
Tracy Clay, teacher for the Newcomers ELL Class, took her students on a field trip to an American Farm. Students roasted hot dogs, ate smores, went on a hayride, and learned about bee keeping.
