Nursery rhymes come to life

October 29, 2010

Pre-kindergarten students have been learning their nursery rhymes and fairly tales at Peters Elementary School, 2900 W. College, including stories about Little Miss Riding Hood and Little Jack Horner. Gannon Woosley's father even made him a plum pie for him to stick his thumb in, see above, and, of course, he pulled out a plum. The students had fun Thursday, dressing up as characters they have been reading about and then going on a parade around the school, as their teachers passed out candy to other classes.

Class of 2011 o'lantern

Hood fills void in secondary

October 28, 2010
Union senior Christian Hood, who is one of the area's top wide receivers, also has been playing in the secondary for the Redskins since Week Four after a few defensive backs were sidelined with injuries.

"With all of the injuries we've had, it was one of those things we thought we had to do," Union coach Kirk Fridrich said about the move. "And it's a tribute to Christian and the way he believes in this football team, for him to go back there and help us out as a senior. He's been tremendous." ... more
Tiger Cubs

Pictured are all first graders - Noah Poston, Mark Sole (parent and pack leader), and Matthew Sole, and below Colby Hopson and Matthew Sole. Tiger Cubs from Boevers Pack 960 received their rank of Bobcat at the September Pack Meeting. Boys are painted by their Akela (adult) in a symbolic manner.

Puzzle cubes

Marie Pfaff’s Introduction to Engineering Design students just finishing up their puzzle cube projects and they are pretty cool. They designed them in the software and have prototypes in a package they designed. Pictures by Brian Graver, student.
