Jarman Veteran's program set Friday

As a yearly salute to those that have defended our country, Jarman Fifth Graders will be hosting a “Veterans Program” on Friday, November 12 at 10 a.m. in the Jarman gym. This student led assembly will feature poetry, songs, and remembrances of each individual servant to our country. The flags of each branch of the service for the United States will also be presented. Refreshments will be served following the assembly to all guests that are being honored by a fifth grader. Every fifth grader has a job, a function, for this assembly. No one is left out. Some will assist with seating, some will read poems, lead songs, and others will serve as escorts. “This tearful salute is a yearly event for our community and our Fifth grade teachers do an amazing job in preparing our students each year.” ... more

8th grade takes third in debate

The Union Competitive Speech and Debate program competed at Broken Arrow this past weekend and the 8th Grade Union team earned third place sweepstakes in the novice division beating out several area high schools for the honor.

Placing 2nd in Lincoln Douglas Debate and setting a new school record was Katelynn Moore. She finished the meet off with a stunning 7-2 record beating opponents from Booker T. Washington High School, Bartlesville High School and Jenks. In Novice Oratory, placing first in was Krystin Jonelly; placing second was Bella Roy and 4th place was Josh McKee. Placing 4th in Standard Oratory was Shiva Musapeta. In Prose Interpretation, placing 2nd in Prose was Josh McKee; placing 4th was Bella Roy, 5th Shiva Musapeta and 6th Katelynn Moore; taking 2nd place in Dramatic Duet Acting was the team of Kayman Glore and Sue Gonzalez. Taking first place in Humorous Duet Acting was Josh McKee and Katelynn Moore and 4th place was Madeline Harney and Thomas Cox.

Congratulations for a job well done!
