Here’s what is going on so far this week…Third grade is having a pioneer school day this Friday, the 19 (whole day), and fourth grade is having a Thanksgiving Reader’s Theater in each classroom at 2:15 on Friday the 19th as well. Parents are invited to the Reader’s Theater for 4th grade.
Peters is also raising money for Honor Flights, an organization that funds WWII veterans’ trips to see the Memorial in Washington D.C. The next trip is in June. Donations are tax deductible and a group of WWII vets will be on hand on Friday, December 17th at 10 a.m. in Mrs. Keller’s room (116) to accept the donations.
Our class will also do a modified version of the WWII program…we’re calling it a “Living Museum of the 1940’s” featuring portrayals of FDR, Harry Truman, Jackie Robinson, Rosie the Riveter, and of course the Swing Dancers from the 40’s, to name a few.

On Thursday, November 18t, pre-kindergarten students at Jarman (all 88 of them) have invited guests to join them in the cafeteria for a Thanksgiving meal served by Jarman Food Services. More turkeys need to be prepared as an additional 100 plus guests will be in attendance! The students are very excited to eat in the “big cafeteria” with their families and friends.
On Friday, November 19, our Kindergarten students will enjoy a mini-feast provided by the homeroom mothers in the afternoon. All in all, we will celebrate the Thanksgiving tradition going into next week and looking forward to 3 days off to spend with families and friends.
