Jarman to celebrate last day

Dear Jarman Patrons,
Tomorrow will be a special day for our students and staff. On August 21, 1991, Jarman opened its' doors for the first time to well over 650 students, coming from both Darnaby and Andersen to ease the growth in South Tulsa. I had the privilege to lead the school into a new age of technology with a staff from over 7 different sites. Tomorrow will be my last day as Principal of Jarman students and I am ready for many hugs from the dearest children in the district. Although it may be a day filled with tears, I am so very happy to be working side by side with Mrs. Shawna Thompson, who has recently been named as the new Principal and is equipped to continue the excellence that Jarman Elementary has demonstrated. Mrs. Thompson will be a tremendous asset to the Jarman community and I support her and the vision she has 100 percent. It is hard to even think of not returning in the fall to greet everyone once again, but this hard decision was meant to be and I will always treasure my association with our district and my time at several schools, where I taught, was a counselor, and an administrator. My best to a magnificent group of people that on a daily basis show why UNION PUBLIC SCHOOLS continues to exhibit excellence in education. (See related story.)
