As part of the 33rd annual YouthArts! Celebration, Union’s combined orchestra program starts at 7 p.m. tonight, Monday, April 23, in the UMAC. All of the orchestras will perform.
“The High School orchestra will play two of the three pieces that we performed in Chicago this weekend,” instructor Pete Peterson said, wrapping ip another stellar year or orchestra.
The High School orchestra qualified for performance in the Dixie Classic National Adjudicator’s Invitational in Chicago. "We performed in this contest on Saturday, April 21, and not only received straight superior ratings, but received the highest score from the judges, therefore receiving the first place honor award.”
Earlier this year, the High School orchestra performed:
“We received the Sweepstakes Award as a result of the successes of these two in-state contests,” Peterson said. “This has been a great year for our high school orchestra both in and out of state.”
