Commencement for Union High School will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 11, at the Mabee Center, 7777 S. Lewis Ave. Click on the download link above for the 2012 Senior Newsletter.
On the day of commencement, seniors will have a shortened day at school before reporting to the Mabee Center for rehearsal. After rehearsal, graduates will know their approximate seating location on the arena floor as well as the aisle they will use for the processional and recessional. Parents will want to coordinate their choice of seating based on this arrangement. Seniors will then be dismissed until 6:45 p.m. to begin robing.
After the ceremony, seniors may participate in Graduation Celebration, a post-graduation party at Incredible Pizza, 8314 E. 71st, from 11 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. The party is an adult-supervised party with food, drinks, games and prize drawings throughout the night.
Baccalaureate was held at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 6 in the Performing Arts Center. A reception for parents and students will be at 4 p.m. Seniors should wear their caps and gowns. All students, grades 9th through 11th, are invited to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2012. The service is sponsored by FUSE and Redskins for Christ.
Diplomas may be picked up beginning June 18. Graduates must have turned in all textbooks and equipment and cleared all fines.
