The following is an automated phone message sent to Darnaby families today, March 16.
Hello. This is Darnaby Principal Chris Reynolds, calling with an important message.
Yesterday evening I received information from the Tulsa Police Department about an attempted abduction that reportedly occurred late yesterday afternoon in the Darnaby neighborhood. It was reported to us that a 7th grade student, walking home between 4:15 – 4:30, was approached by a black male with a mustache, approximately 30-40 years of age, who was driving a newer model, white, two-door truck. Fortunately, the student ran away and was unharmed. Even so, in addition to communicating this information to all Darnaby parents, there will be a police presence in the Darnaby neighborhood this afternoon. Our Counselor Mrs. Biggs has broadcast to all students the importance of being aware of stranger danger, and we encourage you to reinforce the message at home. You can also help our community send a strong message by being visible in the neighborhood during dismissal today. I wish you all a safe and enjoyable spring break.
Chris Reynolds
Principal, Darnaby Elementary
