The Union Alternative School will be conduct a forum for students in grades 9-12 who have applied to the Alternative School at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, October 17, in Alt Ed Building B at 5656 S. 129th E. Ave.
Applications are available online on the Union Alternative School web page at unionps.org or through the counselors’ offices at all secondary (grades 6-12) school sites.
"If you know of any students who appear to be appropriate candidates for alternative education, please encourage them to send in an application and attend this meeting. If at all possible, parents should accompany the students to this forum," Principal Richard Storm said.
At this forum, which will last for about 45 minutes, the school will provide a great deal of general info about the program. At the end of the presentation, students and parents who are still interested in the program will be scheduled for a subsequent private interview to discuss their individual circumstances and to determine their level of need for the program.
Anyone who wants to be considered for entering the Alternative School needs to attend this forum. Because the school works in four-week blocks instead of semesters, the school brings new students into the Alternative School monthly throughout the school year.
