The Union Enrollment Center will soon have a new home thanks to the Board of Education’s purchase of what had been the 61st Street branch of Arvest Bank. The building, at 6011 S. 89th E. Avenue, is across and a couple of blocks east of the Union Education Service Center on 61st Street, the Enrollment Center’s current location.
“The building is expected to be an optimal site for the Enrollment Center since it is centrally located, has adequate parking, and is easily accessible to the public,” said Superintendent Dr. Cathy Burden.
The agreement allowed Union to purchase the property below market value and for Arvest to maintain an ATM at the site as well as receive advertising benefits through its association with the district. An example of that partnership is reflected in Arvest’s new debit Visa Card which sports a Union logo and the phrase, “Go Redskins!”
Announcements will be made about when the Enrollment Center will move, once modifications to the building are complete.
