Once again, Jefferson Elementary Schools is one of only a few Tulsa-area distribution site for Bountiful Baskets - a food co-op that delivers fresh produce twice a month at a low cost. More than 96 baskets for the site had already been sold for the first distribution this Saturday, September 22, Jefferson Principal Kim Rampey said.
Delivery occurs every two weeks at Jefferson. Customers need to bring their own storage bags/containers for their food items. Saturday is the delivery date each time. Visit www.bountifulbaskets.org for more information about ordering and distribution.
The most popular basket is the fresh fruit and vegetable that costs $15. Other popular contain bread items and organic items. There is no income requirements to participate. Anyone interested simply visits the website and purchases the basket of their choice. When you visit the website during the ordering days, there is a list of the items that will be in that week’s basket. Then a semi-truck will be in the Jefferson parking lot on the designated Saturday to deliver the baskets. Information about times will be on the website.
